Melanie graduated from Glasgow School of Art Ceramics Department in 1986 and continues to work in Ceramics, making pieces inspired by her travels in Europe. She makes figurative work, often highly coloured, and experiments with Raku firing. Alongside her ceramics, she also teaches in a school for children with special needs and also takes evening classes at the studio.
