BRAND SPOTLIGHT: One Hundred Stars

What began around a kitchen table has grown into a brand celebrated for its creativity, sustainability, and care. Born from a shared love of textiles, travel, and timeless design, One Hundred Stars remains a true family venture — and we were curious to learn more about their story.

"It’s a thoughtful, hands-on process that blends creativity, heritage, and heart—resulting in pieces that are both artful and timeless." - One Hundred Stars

Q1. One Hundred Stars began as a family business—how did the idea come together, and what brought each of you into it?

A: One Hundred Stars started as a family venture inspired by our shared love of textiles, travel, and timeless design. Around the kitchen table, we dreamt of creating beautiful, ethical clothing that tells a story. With each of us bringing a different skillset, we built a brand rooted in creativity, sustainability, and care—values that still guide every piece we design today.

Q2. What does your creative process look like—from the first spark of an idea to the final piece?

A: Our creative process always begins with inspiration—often found in the pages of antique books, vintage maps, botanical illustrations, or treasures from our collaborations with iconic institutions like the V&A or Kew Gardens. Once we find a motif or story that resonates, we start reimagining it in a way that feels fresh and wearable.

From there, our design team carefully curates colour palettes, experiments with layout, and selects the most flattering silhouettes to bring the print to life. Every detail is considered—from the drape of the fabric to how a print moves with the body. We work closely with our artisan partners to ensure quality and ethical production every step of the way. It’s a thoughtful, hands-on process that blends creativity, heritage, and heart—resulting in pieces that are both artful and timeless.

Q3. You’re not trend-led, yet your work still feels fresh and relevant. What, for you, makes a design truly timeless?

A: For us, timeless design is all about creating pieces that people fall in love with and want to wear again and again. This supports our desire to create slow fashion that isn’t replaced each time a trend changes.

Q4. There’s a real creative kinship between One Hundred Stars and Soroka—both brands love colour, storytelling, and a touch of the unexpected. What do you think makes this partnership such a natural fit?

A: Soroka is a carefully curated design lead store which beautifully reflects Jamila’s vision and passion for colourfulness. One Hundred Stars doesn’t do plain, we are champions of colour and carefully crafted print so the two brands are very complimentary.

Beyond their shared love of creativity, this beautiful brand is deeply committed to ethical and sustainable practices, collaborating with small family businesses in India and using environmentally conscious fabrics. This dedication ensures that every garment embodies both sophistication and integrity.
